... the price hike in natural gas was so significant that WindSource wind power from Xcel became cheaper than its conventionally-fueled electricity.
I wonder if we'll hit that point again ... or maybe Xcel has found a way to charge us more anyhow.
Hopefully not ... and I hope the Colorado PUC won't let them.

it sure would! Just put it on the chair lift and off you go!
Latest thing Penny told me about was an electric Ford Ranger pickup. That would be perfect for hauling manure to the garden.

... I'm just not looking forward to crawling around in the attic figuring out the insulation!
Apparently the house here is pretty well-sealed, which is good news. Even with a leaky cat door, we come in at the low end of houses. But, the room with the missing insulation sure is cold (and hot in summer!).
Lots of heat leaks in our 17-year-old house

My brother is an energy auditor and when he visits he runs around with my power tools and ladders and pokes holes in my idea that we live in a "tight, well insulated house". My project this fall following his October visit, was to seal up all the gaps in the registers for our forced air heating system. This project isn't finished yet, mostly because our house has plenty of registers and these require lots of patience because the tradesperson who installed our ducts must have been in a hurry to get to his coffee breaks and "made it fit" in plenty of instances. Crumby craftsmanship is not impressive to the homeowner on her knees with a flashlight and mirror, trying to figure out how to seal the gaps between registers and flooring or wallboard.
I understand your frustration! Better to know at least!

We live in one of those HOA conrolled neighborhoods with stupid covenants restricting the use of clotheslines, erecting of tents (hoop houses?) and the keeping of poultry. My husband is now on the Board of Directors and Russell and I are prepared to convass the neighorhood to collect the necessary signatures to strike the clothesline restriction from the rules (have to wait on the board meeting which is tonight). We'll need 65 percent of households to succeed. Meanwhile we scofflaws hang up our laundry on clothes racks indoors, over the canopy of a bed, over the railing of our deck outside, over a garden fence...
Russ is learning a few things about government this year!Nisa
